Albuquerque this weekend!

Fresh from our success at the San Diego International Fringe Festival, Theatre Dojo returns to The Cell Theatre (home of the Fusion Theatre Company) in downtown Albuquerque!

KILLING BUDDHA is the award-winning play written by Theatre Dojo founder Algernon D'Ammassa with music by Randy Granger. Algernon and Randy, portraying the same homeless storytellers who perform AN ILIAD, eat, pray, sing, and tell the audience a story in a different but related vein. Leaving Greek tragedy and the history of warfare behind, the storytellers take us to Asia and tell the human story behind a famous bit of Buddhist folklore in which a very human Buddha encounters a serial killer. The story presents a difficult moral problem about forgiveness and redemption. KILLING BUDDHA premiered at the Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival in the summer of 2015, and won the festival's "Fringe Pick" award. It also picked up an award for "Outstanding Storytelling" at the 2016 San Diego International Fringe Festival.
